Research Assistant in the industrial science group at Lynntech. The role of the research assistant is to provide support on novel research and development projects contracted by the Department of Defense, National Institute of Heath, or NASA. Lynntech is a multidisciplinary research facility, giving the opportunity for the development in a large range of research and technical writing skills. Research at Lynntech has included: • Additive Manufacturing using SLA and FDM processes to print complex shapes • Copper and Nickel coating of 3d printed plastics • 3D printing and testing of propellant materials • Agar plating and counting of virus and bacteria • Synthesis and testing of nanoparticles • Data manipulation and analysis

Worked as the closing manager in an ice cream and candy shop at a luxury Christian resort in the Adirondacks of upstate New York. My daily duties as the closing manager included:• Assigning jobs to the staff for the closing shift• Ensuring that the night went smoothly and all the customers were satisfied with their experience• Cleaning and closing up at the end of the night• Closing out the registers and counting profits for the day

• Responsible for 24 students in a weekly, three-hour chemistry lab • Facilitated chemistry experiments and demonstrated topics covered during lecture• Maintained a safe lab environment including waste disposal and proper PPE • Guided students in learning proper lab techniques

• Assisted an ongoing project in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania researching the presence of wine in pottery pieces found in the Republic of Georgia from 6000 B.C. • Used HPLC and Electrospray Mass Spectrometry for trace analysis on the pottery jars in order to detect acid residues commonly found in wine• Worked on method development to separate chiral organic acid molecules• Recorded and processed data using Excel and R • Presented research at both a regional conference and departmental conference

Supervised and managed 5 learning assistants for 3 semesters. The role of a mentor is to provide support for the learning assistants through bi-weekly meetings and 3 observations of their tutor sessions throughout the semester. Other duties of a mentor included approving hours and attending a biweekly mentor meeting.

Learning Assistant for various chemistry classes for 6 semesters. Each semester a learning assistant is assigned to a class they previously mastered. The learning assistants attend their assigned classes then create tailored tutoring sessions for the students. The rule of a learning assistant is not to be a supplementary lecturer, but to cultivate a learning environment through group work and practice problems.

Interned at the Ascensus Specialties chemical plant QA/QC lab, where the process and final product of sodium borohydride was tested. • Ensured process specification was maintained through titrations and gas chromatography• Verified final product purity by an elution technique • Tested for iron, magnesium, and silica on an Induced Couple Plasma (ICP)• Attended safety meetings, updated SOPs, and maintained lab cleanliness and organization
