After many years of having ignored my education and past experience I have rediscovered my love of designing clothing. Focusing on vintage materials, primarily scarves, I have been working on a line of blouses and tunics made from scarves from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Each garment is unique and the body of work tells a story about the history of textile design. It is a wonderful and exciting project.

Elaine Benson was at the center of the art community of the Hamptons from the time the gallery was opened in 1965-1998 when she died. As her daughter I feel it is a part of my legacy to gather stories of the times and edit them to make a book.

I have had the pleasure of doing a few jobs at Dan's Papers including writing a column called "elaine k g benson, her daughter's column". This column was "elaine k g benson, her column" for thirty years while my mother was alive. Taking photos for the paper is a great way to give press to charities and art organizations. It has been great for me.

Last summer marked the 50th anniversary of the founding of Dan's Papers. We celebrated all summer including a "gala" art event in August."50 Years, 50 Artists" included an art auction of 50 artist who have had covers on the paper and a show and sale of their work. It also included a fashion show, raffle, cocktails, light food, and a few surprises. The event took place at 230 Elm Street in Southampton, New York

My work has been shown at Peter Marcelle's Hampton Road Gallery in Southampton, New York.The Gallery has moved to Bridgehampton and is now called the Peter Marcelle Gallery. I will be having a solo show on May 25th, 2013, from 6-8.
