    Making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities is at the heart of the PathWays mission.     Founded by a woman over 50 years ago to help protect our national parks, SCA was focused on bringing conservation and youth together. It was a green organization long before "being green" was in. I was hired to establish and oversee first human resources function including payroll, benefits, worker’s compensation, employee relations, talent management, compensation planning, legal compliance, policy development, employee training and performance management. During my tenure, SCA grew from 85 employees with an $8.3M budget to 185 regular staff nationally, 400+ seasonal staff, 4,000 volunteers annually and a $37M budget. I managed a staff of seven and was a member of the Executive Team I was able to visit locations that probably would not have been on my radar such as the North Cascades in Washington.• I co-designed and implemented a reorganization process that included strength indexing, personal interviews and resume review, met various intermittent deadlines, closely aligned skills with positions and led to numerous internal promotions.• I created $40,000 annual savings in processing fees by implementing a web-based payroll system. • We held health insurance premium increases to 13% maximum and was able to negotiate 4+ years of 0% increases by recognizing organizational fiscal limitations and creatively working on plan design without sacrificing quality of coverage.• We were awarded a 2011 Alfred P. Sloan award from the Work and Family Institute for work/life balancing in the Time Off category by creating a flexible work schedule and PTO plan.
