Whether it was learning basic arithmetic or solving differential equations, I have always known that solving problems using mathematics was where I felt most challenged and frustrated, but also most exhilarated and accomplished. Majoring in applied mathematics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill allowed me to grow immensely in mathematical knowledge, but it also taught me how to collaborate with my peers and professors in order to truly understand the most abstract and puzzling concepts. As an M.S. candidate in Analytics at the Institute for Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University, I am growing as an analytics professional by tackling challenging data-based problems with my fellow classmates in small group projects. Throughout the program, I will grow as a leader and follower, learn how to communicate difficult results and concepts using simple terms, and gain experience with approaching problems concerning large amounts of data. I am most talented at learning new material quickly, persevering when faced with challenges, being a compassionate and understanding group member, and being efficient with time and resources.
