At the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce our goal is to connect like-minded businesses in an effort to work together to create a business culture that promotes sustainability and promotes the triple bottom line: people, planet and profit. My role with the USGCC began with managing the Business Certification Project. After researching what it was we wanted to offer and finding a company to provide what we were after, we worked together to create a certification tool for our member companies to evaluate and grow in their sustainable business practices. However, the product did not end up being what we hoped and the project was shelved indefinitely. The research for this project and the experience to bring it from an idea to fruition was educating for me. Following the certification project, I took up responsibility for the creation and upkeep of the membership database and moved it from ChamberMaster to Directory Press. I am also the point of contact for members and assist them with any questions or issues.My other duties include writing blog articles, driving traffic to our social media sites, providing great service to our members, planning and facilitating chamber events, and writing marketing material.
