My reporting focuses on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former President Donald Trump, and the future of the conservative movement in the Sunshine state.

I was promoted to the role of senior correspondent after producing stories that included exclusive interviews and scoops, all of which drove traffic to Insider. My reporting on the feud between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Walt Disney World, in particular, set me apart from the competition. My focus is on the Florida legislature, the 2024 Republican presidential primary, DeSantis, former President Donald Trump, financial conflicts of interest, and money in politics.I cover both Democrats and Republicans, and I'm interested in Florida-based stories that show how policies affect people.

I wrote about national policy and politics for Insider's Politics team. I relocated from Washington, DC, to Miami, Florida, in 2021. I focused on the 2022 midterms, Florida's gubernatorial race, and then the 2024 Republican presidential primary. I also still covered Congress from afar, mostly focused on stories about lobbying and major donors, as well as analyzing politicians' personal financial disclosures.

Insider's managers promoted me to correspondent after one year as a senior reporter because I met the company's subscription and writing goals. I was part of the DC bureau where I reported on congressional politics and negotiations, including everything from economic recovery legislation to cannabis reform and business regulations. I also wrote leadership profiles and stories about Capitol Hill workplace culture. My stories aimed to explain to readers how federal and state policies will affect them and to bring readers “inside the room” where key power players make decisions.

I reported on the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, stimulus negotiations in Congress and health care industry money in politics. I exclusively interviewed top Trump administration officials, including Domestic Policy Council acting director Brooke Rollins, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma, and Surgeon General Jerome Adams.

I regularly interviewed members of Congress and Trump administration officials to write breaking news, policy pieces, and in-depth magazine stories. I covered political transformations on Capitol Hill, from Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act to the growing Democratic support “Medicare for All.” I reported on the opioid crisis from vulnerable communities and treatment facilities. My regular coverage spanned numerous topic areas, including Medicaid, abortion rights, drug pricing, infectious diseases, regulations, and business. I also anchored the "Daily on Healthcare" newsletter. My media appearances included TV hits on CNN, Fox News, and CSPAN. I regularly contributed to the “What the Health?” podcast for Kaiser Health News.

I wrote about a range of health care topics, from policy to industry and consumer concerns. During 2017 I closely followed developments on the Affordable Care Act and Medicare, as well as trends in addiction medicine and policy.

I wrote daily, breaking and long-form stories for our news desk about public health, medical studies, health care reform, and the health industry.

I was part of the Health Rankings team, responsible for releasing Best Hospitals and Best Children's Hospitals. I helped implement site fixes and modifications, and led the crafting and writing of editorial content for launches. I worked as the product manager for Best Nursing Homes, where I led product improvement measures with Web developers and communicated with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to interpret data then display it in a user-friendly manner. I assisted with production and promotion of rankings, for which I participated in panels and held radio interviews. My writing for the team ranged from in-depth reporting and analysis to sharing the latest trends in health care. I introduced U.S. News' monthly Twitter chats on health topics, which grew out audience and provided reporting material for stories.

My work was published in the Washington Post, The Atlantic, and Kaiser Health News. I reported on voting rights, prison health care, and alternatives to traditional health insurance.

I wrote about health IT, information privacy, economic stimulus plans in Medicare and Medicaid, and mental health policy.I broke news on health IT safety, revealed gaps in underserved medical groups, and reported on members of Congress who introduced legislation to repeal the economic stimulus.My stories were co-published in The Huffington Post. An interactive I created on harmful chemicals in oil refineries was published and broadcast on ABC News, and an interactive on educational disparities was published in Newsweek/The Daily Beast.I started working with The Huffington Post Investigative Fund in May 2010, which merged with the Center in January 2011.

I worked as CMS specialist to launch the "Vogue Stylist" iPhone application, a project that connected the magazine to readers and advertisers.For the mobile project, I edited photos and copy, corresponded with clients and developers, coordinated CMS content, and contributed and implemented design ideas.I also contributed to the long-term success of the iPhone application by writing a comprehensive CMS guide to help train future employees.

As an intern for Stateline.org, I reported legislative trends in state fiscal policy, shot photographs and designed graphics.Some of my story highlights included: States’ selling property to balance budgets, tax amnesty programs, sales tax breaks, legislative sessions, and the economic stimulus’ impact on community colleges. I also contributed to the report “Beyond California: States in Fiscal Crisis” with Pew Center on the States.I aggregated news from various states-based news organizations every morning, a project that I continued as a freelancer until 2014.

During my senior year at the University of Richmond, I worked for the daily online version, www.thecollegianur.com, of the weekly University of Richmond student newspaper, The Collegian. I was part of team that launched, designed, and promoted the website during summer 2008. Our website won “Best Overall Student Newspaper Website” from the Student Society for News Design.As online managing editor, I wrote and edited several breaking news stories daily for the print and online versions of The Collegian. I participated in live-blogging during the 2008 presidential and vice-presidential debates, and conducted student surveys about the election. I also recruited politically active students and professors to write guest opinions and participate in blogging.My reporting focused on the 2008 election, Virginia politics, social issues, and the university's policies on Greek life.

As an intern for TIME, I attended edit meetings, prepped editors for media appearances, monitored and reported on various news sources, assisted at political and celebrity events, wrote press release items, researched contacts for press releases, and tracked media appearancesHighlights include: TIME and TIME Style & Design issues, TIME 100 event, “The Party Faithful” book, “Comedy at the Edge book,” and various live “10 Questions” events with politicians and celebrities.

I created DVDs and Web content for teacher training and conferences, for 15 to 20 hours per week, during a yearlong hiatus I took from college. I filmed, logged, edited and distributed classroom material for Teaching As Leadership Online Navigator, a Web tool that helped corps members improve their teaching performance

I researched and wrote summaries about competitors’ public relations strategies, tracked In Style media coverage weekly, assisted with broadcast segments, edited monthly video reels, assisted with back issue and book mailings, researched magazine content for public relations opportunities, assisted with fashion photo shoots, and assisted in selecting products and models for media appearancesI promoted In Style's issues monthly, as well as the “Style 101” book, Accessoirée, and the Golden Globe Awards After Party.

Most summers I stayed on campus to take classes and to work. For this job I wrote press releases and copy for the website, conducted interviews with alumni, proofread and edited copy, assisted in event planning, and researched speakers and topicsI also edited video, took photos, and edited artwork for the website. In addition to the summer work I held this job from May 2008 to April 2009, and trained employees on how to use the University of Richmond's content management system.

I designed and taught curriculum in political science and health care to three to six students per semester, as part of a paid position. Curriculum topics included: Science Overview, Health Care in French-Speaking Developing Countries, and the 2007 French Elections. I led weekly discussions with students in French and assigned readings and video news clips.

I edited contracts, created health power-points for the district's TV channel, and wrote and designed health brochures. The position was paid and also part of an independent study. I wrote about the health care needs and services provided to students in Philadelphia public schools. The project led me to create a documentary during the spring of 2007 about public school inclusion for students with disabilities.
