I worked as the product manager for Best Nursing Homes, where I led product improvement measures with Web developers and communicated with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to interpret data then display it in a user-friendly manner. As an intern for Stateline.org, I reported legislative trends in state fiscal policy, shot photographs and designed graphics.Some of my story highlights included: States’ selling property to balance budgets, tax amnesty programs, sales tax breaks, legislative sessions, and the economic stimulus’ impact on community colleges. I also contributed to the report “Beyond California: States in Fiscal Crisis” with Pew Center on the States.I aggregated news from various states-based news organizations every morning, a project that I continued as a freelancer until 2014.

I was part of team that launched, designed, and promoted the website during summer 2008.
