As the Vice President of Research and Development I head research and product development strategy and operations. This includes extensions and enhancements to the company’s current product line and the research of new products, technologies, and techniques. I build and manage the team of laboratory personnel and scientists that develop and validate assays for IVD and RUO use. I lead the company’s research strategy and technology innovations. This includes designing and managing government grants and contracts, contract research and development projects for external customers, and new product development. More importantly, I am passionate about creating solutions to diagnose and prevent diseases.

As the Director of Research and Development I head research and product development strategy and operations. I build and manage the team of laboratory personnel that develop and validate assays for IVD and RUO use. I lead the company’s research strategy, including internal projects and external collaborations. With our high-performing product development team we guide product ideas from proof of concept through validation.

Intuitive Biosciences has acquired the product lines from Gentel Biosciences, and is continuing to support the NHP research community with Colony Surveillance Assays and tuberculosis screening products. As the Director of the Animal Health program at Intuitive Bio, I work with R&D and the NHP research community to support colony health initiatives.

Manage the Colony Surveillance Assay product line in the laboratory animal health field, developing product pipeline and managing emerging products for animal health. Managed COGs for product lines, supply chains, FTO, and researched market potential.Presented new products at conferences, identified customer leads, lead sales initiatives for new products, managed customer accounts, created customer educational program, and managed Beta Tester programs using customer resource management software (SalesForce). Used social media and other web-based tools for e-marketing campaigns,collect market data, and to create customer education tools.Managed Array Development and Production for all microarray products under RUO standards, and maintained Quality Systems. Created standard operating procedures under GLP and GMP. Created sales tools to aid Sales and Marketing efforts to promote products and increase team understanding and facilitate communication with potential customers. Continuing interests: applying microarray technology to serological screening assays for simian tuberculosis.

Ran the arraying core: programmed automation, consulted clients on projects, performed assay development, consulted with legal on MTAs, CDAs, licensing, and contracts.
