K Interior Paint Design borne out of my love for Interior painting, faux finishing, and decorating. I started my own company when my children began school. Over almost ten years, jobs came to me by word of mouth and a Facebook page. I was always busy. One of the first jobs I did was painting and decorating a local restaurant in a Tuscan theme, The restaurant turned out to be my personal favorite in town! I painted many rooms in many houses, a local function hall, a flower shop, and was even part of the painting crew for an episode of Extreme Home Makeover. I met countless wonderful people and enjoyed myself so much that it never really felt like work.

The Butcher Company was a privately held company started in 1880. My career there began in a Temp position. I had little experience but learned and excelled quickly, moving up the ladder and through several roles. The company encouraged employees to move around. I took full advantage of that and educated myself as much as possible while there. In 2001, the company was sold to SC Johnson and subsequently folded into their headquarters in Chicago. The owner of The Butcher Company treated every employee with dignity and respect and made sure each one received a financial gift upon his departure. Butcher's was one of the best job experiences I ever had to this day.
