Kimberly Raff is the Founder and Executive Director of Foster Alumni Mentors, a non-profit organization in Mesa County dedicated to increasing positive outcomes for those who have experienced the foster care system. Kimberly aged out of the foster care system at the age of 17. She graduated from Colorado Mesa University in 2008 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and is the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. After graduating she set out to give back to her community through inspiring hope in those with similar backgrounds and began working in the nonprofit sector in 2009 in providing preventative services for families on the verge of entering the child welfare system. In 2012 she went to work in child welfare for 5 years experiencing preventative services, assessment, and permanency. In 2017 she started Foster Alumni Mentors and has been a part of developing and implementing programs for underrepresented families in need of services within Mesa County and Nationally. She is a speaker, mentor, an advocate for social change, and loves to teach and share with others. She has been married for 16 years and is the mother of 3 amazing kids ages 22, 14, and 10. Despite the obstacles she has experienced, she continues to work hard to achieve her goals, inspiring others to do the same.
