Profile bio

About Kimberly Summer

I'm a Melbourne (Naarm) based Director and Videographer specialising in dance. I have over 15 years experience working in the Australian film and arts community with my work focusing on diverse representation, collaborative frameworks and impactful storytelling. My north star is creating work that builds a stronger, more visible, and diverse world. Background:After working for eight years in commercial film and TV, I took the leap into directing and videography. I have since worked with a range of clients and collaborators - from artists, community groups, government bodies and multi-national brands. My love for shining a light on under-represented communities has meant carving a niche skillset when working with non-professional talent. Though I love working on TVCs, branded works and documentaries, I always go back to my first love, collaborating with dancers on film.Key Projects: ◦ 'Real is Real Sexy' TVC and branded content campaign for Sexyland Australia, 2023.◦ 'Bring A Plate' SBS Educational series, 2024.◦ 'Born to Stand Out' documentary project, 2023. ◦ Virgin Fashion Festival brand film, 2020.◦ 'Ma: Mother' dance short film, 2018.◦ 'Re-Connect' ongoing socio-political dance project, 2023-Clients include: AFL, Loreal Australia, Champion, Seven Network, ABC, Fremantlemedia, YSAS, L2R Dance, Miromaa Indigenous Languages, EOS Shoes, All the Queens Men, National Breast Cancer Foundation, University of Melbourne, Wire Organisation, Natalie Miller Foundation, Vogue Australia, Melbourne Fashion Festival, Long Story Short, Cypher Culture.

Listed skills include Art, Photography, Video, Graphic Design, and 14 others.
