I took on a larger role at the university during the pandemic, including advising, career development, and administrative duties. Worked with the Career Center to put together the Architecture Careers month of programming, including lectures, workshops, and a career fair in February 2021.

In the summer of 2023, I took on the role of the program manager for the Design Strategist Development (DSD) program, which is an 18-month, professional training program geared towards high performers considering a future career in design strategy. The DSD Program is focused on accelerating the development of well-rounded strategists, who will contribute to the growth of Gensler’s Strategy practice across the globe.

In this role, I am responsible for creating a vision for emerging talent attraction and acquisition for Gensler. Leveraging the firm’s People First Philosophy, I work to develop programs to attract early career talent and ensuring we have thoughtful diversity and inclusion programs to attract the best talent in the design and architectural industry, and developing a robust and continuous talent pipeline.As the Emerging Talent Program Manager, I am responsible for leading the firm’s portfolio of emerging talent programming such as: University Outreach, Scholarships, Internships, Licensure and the first five-year career pathing. I am also responsible for the development of the portfolio of programs as well as program oversight, and the day-to-administration of the programs.Since 2020, I have launched two new scholarship programs, The Rising Black Designers Scholarship + Design Challenge and the UK Diversity in Design Bursary. Through these programs, we increased overall scholarship awards from $40,000 to just under $200,000, annually to support minority students.In late 2020, we were tasked with coming up with a new intern experience during the pandemic. Our team ideated, proposed, prepared, and launched the first-ever firm-wide internship program, the Gensler Summer Fellowship, during which I managed 42 interns over the 10-week program. The program centered on the firm’s Measurable Impact work in our Research Institute with a focus on Social and Climate Justice. Since its inception, we have run three cohorts of the program, to impact approximately 100 students, bringing 1/3 of the Summer Fellows into the firm for full-tme opportunities.In 2021, we launched the Student Design Charrette, which offers funding to the HBCU-accredited architecture programs and provides mentorship to students through weekly engagement. I managed 7 schools, 11 studios, and 54 mentors in 2021. We are now wrapping up year 4 and looking to ideate on the next iteration of the SDC.

My main focus in this role was to outreach and secure new sponsors, foster and build on relationships with our current partners, and when possible, to bring career development opportunities to our membership through these partnerships. Additionally, I planned and executed six yearly events, with the largest event bringing in 700-1,000 attendees. I also supported four additional regional conferences each year, led by our student chapters.Within the first quarter of FY19, we were able to meet and exceed our competitions and partnership goals due to a strong offense on partnership outreach that started in Q4 FY18. We also increased our list of Design Alliance and Collegiate Associate partners.Additionally, I have spent a total of six months living and working in our event cities over the course of three years, to garner partnerships with local professionals for student engagement. Because of these remote work opportunities and my increased role in event planning, we have been able to exceed our partnership and engagement goals for our events two out of the past three years.In 2019, we kicked off a national Freedom By Design community service program in which we are partnering with AIA Potomac Valley, the University of Maryland, and the Potomac Valley Architectural Foundation to create a sustainability park that will support education within the educational and regional community.

Issues 80-86. Managed a team of writers and the student Editor-in-Chief to issue the semi-annual edition. My main role was editing, layout, and execution of the issue, leaving the theme and direction to the student EIC and writing team.

As the first Director of Leadership & Career services, I was able to create a robust and extensive portfolio of leadership and career-related programs that partner with architectural organizations in the pursuit of increasing the value of the organization to our members.During my tenure, we launched several career-related sponsored programs such as THRIVE: A Career Prep Event (sponsored by Black Spectacles), Elevate Your Pitch (sponsored by Schindler), the #AskAnArchitect Show (sponsored by AIA), and I Want to Work In (sponsored by PPI). Additionally, we relaunched our Career Center, and grew our scholarship and competition offerings by partnering with WiiN Project.

In my role as Outreach Manager for the Experience + Education Directorate, I delivered presentations about the process of licensure for architects to colleges of architecture, AIA components, professional conferences, career fairs, and industry conventions nationwide. I also hosted webinars regarding the licensure process, as well as coordinated and managed a nationwide network of professionals and educators dedicated to communicating and informing the public about the architect licensure process. I was a subject matter expert on all of NCARB’s Experience + Education programs, and worked with students, intern architects, registered architects, and Member Boards in all matters related to Experience + Education.

Small residential and light commercial practice on the coast of Maine. Projects ranged from minor renovations to million dollar homes, along with several renovations to local restaurants.

Design-build firm with 30+ employees. Designed and facilitated the opening of a $2M restaurant, complete with branding, marketing, and FF&E for the project on behalf of the owner with the support of a Chef. Lead designer and coordinated with the CM, Interior Decorator, and the film crew for HGTV's Blog Cabin 2012.
