The President is the principal elected officer of the Union and I was responsible for co-ordinating the work of the Union’s Officers and Committees. The sole student representative on the University Board of Governors and Academic Board (and many other committees within the University) and acted as liaison between the Union and University authorities.Responsible for all contact with the media (press, radio and television). Regularly on BBC Radio Wales.Worked closely with Entertainments Manager to ensure a variety of good offers and good events for students including lead responsibility for the Summerball, Community Funday and more.Key Acheivements:Lead role in the Pontypridd in Partnership group building bridges between the Students and the local Community. Organised 2 very successful fundraising community Fun Days and other such events totalling over £30,000 for local and national charities.
