I’m a digital journalist who has spent a career pushing toward the future of storytelling for local, national and international audiences. I’ve helped launch startups and worked to change traditional structures for new story forms as an editor, reporter and leader. I frequently speak and provide training on the state of digital journalism, real-time storytelling, leadership and newsroom culture. I'm committed to constantly learning about these topics, and have done research for the American Press Institute. I've also been part of the inaugural classes of two leadership programs: The Poynter-NABJ Leadership Academy for Diversity in Digital Media and #50WomenCan Change the World's first journalism cohort. I also publish a semi-frequent newsletter focused on emerging leaders, The Middles (themiddl.es).The early part of my career was spent reporting and writing for print and web publications, focusing on fashion, home design, and city government reporting.I want to be on the cutting edge of journalism. I want to change this industry back into a thriving one. I want to help make great stories even greater.
