I've been working in the wine industry for the past 13 years, beginning with my ministry work on Sermons from the Vine back in 2007. I've found that ministry work and wine actually makes for a rather nice blend, like a nice Bordeaux from the Chateau Margaux. In both instances I serve people by helping them find what they're looking for, either the right wine for the occasion, or a relevant message from the vineyard. I work either in the store aisles filled with wine, or between the rows of Virginia grapevines. Wine is important to me, and to people in general. Not surprisingly, there is much spiritual truth that can be found by following the life cycle of a vineyard throughout one full growing season. These are the things that I share with people on a daily basis, and I almost never experience a dull or boring day.

On Sunday mornings throughout the grape growing season, April - October, I serve as an itinerant vineyard preacher at one of several wineries I visit weekly on a rotating basis. The sermons all feature one or more of the many Biblical references to wine, grapes, the vineyards, or the processes involved with wine making. The sermons are designed to coincide with whatever the seasonal stage of development the vineyards are in. Besides the sermons, I also perform weddings, river baptisms, communion services, vineyard blessings, and any other Pastoral duties I"m called upon to perform.
