The Practice Support Program (PSP) is an initiative of the General Practice Services Committee, one of the four joint collaborative committees of the Doctors of BC and BC government. PSP services and offerings are delivered by Regional Support Teams to strengthen full-service family practice, increase professional satisfaction and experiences, and improve patient care. All of which will support the development of patient medical homes and primary care networks across BC. As a Regional Support Coordinator, I coordinated training for primary care physicians and their teams, and coached both on embedding strategies and tools into their clinical and office practice.

Originated, planned, developed, evaluated and reported upon all aspects of evidence-based health promotion strategies and projects including supporting tools and materials. Each initiative involved a unique combination of target audiences, partners, product development, communication and marketing strategies, deliverables, research evidence and best practice. I led and participated in numerous committees, networks, and working groups, and collaborated with many different internal and external stakeholders representing a variety of disciplines. The work involved applying the methodology of social marketing, harm reduction, group facilitation, behaviour change theory, and adult education, as well as an understanding of the integrated framework for population health promotion that includes the determinants of health.
