Founder - Furniture Designer And MakerEkte Jan 2017 - Jan 2023Tromso Area, NorwayHandcrafted furniture from the north of Norway. @ektefurniture on Instagram. We created hundreds of furniture pieces sold across the globe from Singapore (Sands Marina, flex!) in the east via Switzerland and all the way up to Spitsbergen in the north. We even built a floating sauna! We had an amazing time over 6 years making beautiful furniture, growing the team and our business organicly as we progressed. Personally it was exciting to learn the new craft of making physical product, by hand, it gave a great perspective on product development and creation as a whole. The relationship between software and game development to furniture design and building may seem like worlds apart, but I was continually surprised about the overlap of skills and mindset. Having worked in global scale software startups with an international audience it was a good learning experience to run a traditional small local, and unscalable, company with regional customers, much like most of the smaller businesses we are surrounded by every day in our cities and communities. -

Co-Founder, CeoSuperplus. Oct 2013 - Mar 2019Tromsø, NorwayOur mission was to improve the lives of children with special needs through individually tailored, fun, engaging and easy-to-use mobile & tablet applicationsMillions of children around the world struggle on a daily basis with the effects of a development disability, be it from Autism or other diagnoses. We wanted to help these children live a fuller life by giving them mobile and tablet apps that will allow them to develop, build confidence and master their everyday challenges. Our products catered for the child's needs in 3 main areas; Communication, Social Interaction and Cognition. We failed to achieve market adoption for our products and subsequently shut down our operations in 2019. A great deal was learnt both individually and as a team, much of which has been brought with us into our new projects and ventures.
