Prior to focusing on criminal justice reform efforts, I spent years working in the marketing/communications realm, shaping ideas and getting them from thought to the masses, creating industry awareness, increased demand for brand, and heavy consumer interaction. I did it all, from creating Web Content, to Direct Response Copywriting, to Marketing Product Launches, developing White Papers, Case Studies, and Video Script Development and Direction. I have a broad range of writing, and public speaking experience to include general reporting and feature writing. Most often my focus within the marketing sector has been on persuasion and engagement. Move the business (B2B), or consumer, (B2C) to do "something" - all via the written word - created and executed in a strategic way that creates new thought, invites action, and all the while supports, and builds, brand integrity and continuity. An innate passion for news and “truth” propelled me into the newspaper medium where I worked as a G/A reporter for various publications, including the Houston Chronicle. A strong sense of creativity followed, and I began offering marketing and advertising services to Fortune 500 companies. Then, I decided to pursue justice. Legislative advocacy. I currently fight the good fight, advocating for criminal justice reform. It’s ultimately about transforming minds, hearts, and souls within the criminal justice reform arena, so that individual lives, and society, become better.
