East Coast Living is Atlantic Canada’s premier homes magazine. This quarterly magazine provides readers with engaging stories to inspire their own home projects. As editor, I oversee the production of the magazine's print and online editions, newsletter, and social media. Additionally, I edit Chamber Vision magazine for the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce and contribute editorial content to other MGP publications including Halifax Magazine, Bedford Magazine, and Port of Halifax magazine.

The Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association is an industry support organization representing book publishers from Atlantic Canada.I was the managing editor of Atlantic Books Today, a full-colour, 48-page magazine available three times a year (spring, fall and winter editions), offering readers the latest news about Atlantic books, publishing & writers.As projects manager, I coordinated promotional publications including the Atlantic Summer Reading Guide and Books for the Holidays, as well as events such as the Best Atlantic-Published Book Award and Pitch the Publisher (at The Word on the Street festival).

Organized people like spreadsheets. I love them. As the research manager on the PROFIT 500, Hot 50 and W100 rankings, I assigned a team of intrepid interviewers in Toronto and Montreal to gather massive quantities of data from company CEOs and presidents, and then managed it into giant Excel spreadsheets for our editorial team. I later collected financial statements from these same busy folks and reviewed them to ensure each company’s eligibility for the rankings.

Managing a team of photographers is like herding cats. Happily, I’m a cat person. I hired and managed photographers to shoot business customer case studies. My responsibilities included communicating artistic direction to photographers, convincing our client’s customers that they indeed wanted to pose for photos and choosing the final images for the client’s selection.

My internship at This taught me the amazing insanity that is taking a collection of articles and features and turning them into a magazine.Over 4 months, I worked two issues through the production process, from assignments to editing to debates about cover art, and learned the lost art of fact-checking along the way. Highlights were co-writing the February 2010 Olympic games feature package, blogging about Canadian culture and helping plan a launch party event.
