Kim Hubbell is graduate of the University of Kansas with a Masters in Social Work. She is a licensed through the State of Oregon as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and through the State of Kansas and Oregon Behavioral Science Licensing Board as a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW/LCSW).She also completed a post-masters practicum and course work to earn her school social work certification in Kansas. Most recently, Kim and her husband Pat have owned and operated Brooklyn Pharmacy in Portland Oregon where Kim worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and Office Manager/Bookkeeper. From 2015- March 2018, Kim worked as a Behavioral Health Care Advocate for Optum as part of United Health Group. In this role, Kim served as the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility Coordinator. As coordinator, Kim oversaw admissions, treatment and length of stay for youth under the Kansas Medicaid program. Additionally, Kim assisted with other behavioral health utilization reviews. Kim previously worked as a trainer for United Healthcare/Optum when the program was implemented in 2012.In June 2010, Kim owned and operated her own private practice where she provided individual therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. Her therapeutic approaches included Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems and Play Therapy. She worked collaboratively with schools, physicians and other community members as needed to provided comprehensive care for her clients. Kim had a range of experiences with children, youth and families. From her early roles as the Director of Small Miracle's Center for Learning, Social Worker and Executive Director for Head Start, WRAP Clinician with Bert Nash Mental Health Center to her position as School Social Worker with Lawrence Public Schools, Kim has been able to provide developmentally appropriate, strengths based, family-centered therapy and collaborative problem solving interventions with youth ages 5-19 and the systems that serve them.Kim also has over 10 years of administrative, program development and grant writing experience. She has written many local, state and federal grants. Among these were Safe Schools/Healthy Students, Block Grants and HUD grants. Kim has provided clinical supervision to other social workers as well as general supervision of other support staff. She also worked as a clinical trainer for United Healthcare as a part of the Medicaid start up in Kansas and has taught graduate level courses at the University of Kansas.
