Experienced engineering lead both as an IC and as a manager. I believe in building diverse teams, caring deeply about users, and treating code as a “means to an end”. I value learning and iterating quickly, working together as a team to solve problems, and taking broad ownership. At Cognite I was part of the engineering leadership team and led engineering in the Industry Applications department, managing 8 teams and ~50 software engineers. At Facebook I worked in Community Integrity, where our focus was on protecting the community. My team built the reporting flows that enabled users to report bad experiences, and we worked closely with the teams responsible for the AI detection systems and the human review systems in order to better support users across Facebook, Messenger and Instagram. At Elastic I got my first experience with scaling extremely fast. I first built up a UI team within the Cloud org, before joining the Kibana org. Here I lead the platform team, which was responsible for the architecture and core platform of Kibana on both the backend and the frontend. Our job was laying the groundwork for enabling everyone else to move quickly. At BEKK I lead the JavaScript group, where we focused on building and testing large-scale JavaScript applications. I also worked in a distributed team using Elasticsearch and Akka to build a new infrastructure for high-quality, near-realtime road traffic measurements for The Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Software EngineerTana Jun 2022 - PresentGreater Oslo RegionWe're on a mission to reinvent how humans, teams and computers work together. We're hiring: https://tana.inc/. We're looking for experienced devs that want to go deep on solving complex problems across our stack. Tana is an information editor growing from a single user to small teams of users to enterprise scale user bases. The same way Google Maps presents an infinitely scrollable and zoomable map, we want to present a seamless UX that gives users access to an infinite graph, regardless of access via a browser, a phone or a computer, both offline and online. -

Principal Software EngineerElastic Sep 2015 - Apr 2018Oslo Area, NorwayI led two different teams while at Elastic: first the Cloud UI team, then the Kibana platform team. On the Elastic Cloud team our primary focus was building a UI to bridge the gap between our existing user-facing app and the existing admin app. This was a significant delivery in enabling us to ship a single UI in both our SaaS and on-prem offerings. The new UI re-thought what was needed to to move from SaaS-only to also supporting on-prem, and took over the role of several existing UIs, merging the functionality they had in a more user-friendly and extendable way.In the Kibana platform team our primary focus was on architecture and the core platform of Kibana, on both the backend and the frontend. -
