Production Support Focal Point
Director
We started as Impact Screens, looking for ways to bring community, local government & business content together in a managed, vibrant mixture on large & satellite screens that enhance & showcase the town’s look & feel, engaging young & old without compromising the existing atmosphere of the area.We worked to bring the newest & most exciting feature to towns in a long time - something everyone can be a part of. As of April 2017, that has become Townstream.Live streaming of local events through a dedicated, local channel with app interface in the pipeline - pilot running soon! Look out for our high viz vests at an event near you shortly and watch this space!
Editorial & Vendor Liaison
I have added two strings to my bow with the wider Jinfo team! I am contacting and liaising with vendors who produce products which Jinfo review, and setting up Q&As to spotlight key vendors. In addition, I liaise on editorial matters for content on Jinfo.com . I'm enjoying this already and look forward to connecting with you, to see what Jinfo can do to place your products in the spotlight of our subscribers - buyers and professionals.
Proof Reader
Ensuring that all copy leaving the wonderful hands of the team I support is marvellous, fit for purpose and razors edge ready.
Functional & Data Support - Hub Community Owner & Accessibility Functional Expert
The client Airbus has shifted its provider to Cimpa, bringing a move for me across to Cimpa to fulfil a very similar role with the same team. A full description will be added once my feet are under the desk, the potted plant is in place and a cup of tea is steaming away next to the mouse mat...---Working alongside the Accessibility Operations team, I am a Functional Expert in PLM tool Accessibility and the HUB (new intranet platform) Community Owner for IDOB (Functional Data & Support). I analyse & problem solve PLM access issues for Airbus, invent and document better ways to work, take part in other projects & liaise trans-nationally on a daily basis with other Functional Experts throughout Europe. Finding 'better Best Practice' remains my aim and leaving no service user stuck when it comes to PLM tool access.I was proud to see the whole IDOB section represented yet again to all our service users in the new HUB format, which I ran a project for several months before entering this role in my former (similar) role; transferring all the content across with an accurate and complex mapping structure, working with the wider IDO community and travelling to Toulouse. I am pleased to have driven IDOB through the eSite era to the new HUB, with single minded efficiency and user friendly simplicity at the heart of both representations.
Functional & Data Support - Transnational Esite Co-Ordinator & Accessibility Team Leader
I was headhunted by Airbus during maternity, which I came off early to take a role at the request of the Manager who I worked with previously, leading a team. Working in a small team of access experts within Filton, I decimated backlog, invented better pathways to work, took part in other projects & maintained a good spread amongst the team to produce efficient working trans-nationally. Finding 'better Best Practice' is my aim and solid work my daily passion.7 months in, I was nominated by the trans-national management team as eSite Co-ordinator, breaking my own record for in-job growth either upward or sideways. A short while later, I was nominated again as Access Focal Point for UK, which breaks the mold as usually this role is held only by a permanent member of staff as the Team leader. So as a contractor, I have reached further and higher than should be possible. This is the way things should be, and what a company with an order book like Airbus deserves.
Community Mental Health Recovery Worker
Working out of St Pauls, I manage and handle my own caseload of individuals who struggle with their mental wellbeing and ability to connect and operate within society. Meeting them at organised appointments in community settings, I aim to encourage them to engage with their local community and where possible, to grow in their abilities and confidence - for example starting a course, voluntary work or even paid employment. Organising my own time and research, my priority is to be out of the office as much as possible with the service users, and to be a productive team member when in the office.
Functional & Data Support - Transnational Projects Leader
As of the beginning of 2009, I have been working on steadily more transnational projects, including the rolling out of a brand new calender system for all employees (contract or perm) and also an online redesign for the Functional & Data Support web presence, which includes leading a transnational team. In addition to this, I perform several incident-based tasks and tracking tasks, chasing up problem areas within the business for my section that requires pushing forward etc.
Data Operations Engineer
Starting off as a Configuration Technician for 1 year, I am now working in a new role that right now, may expand in one of about three directions. I work with MODS on most aircraft families, and can if I were to do so, hold up designers. Only I won't, because I'm quick as a ferret and twice as cute.
Editor - Den Of Wii
I was asked to come on board during a period of freelance writing by a new face at Dennis Publishing, within their Online Projects team.Having worked with Lowri before, I jumped at the chance to do so again since I knew she was as we brits say, 'sound as a pound'. Being invited to become the Editor of Den of Wii was a real opportunity to stretch my wings and take on another new challenge, so it was game on from April 2007!
Journalist
Grew a games section from the ground up & successfully pursued major leads with publishers, including free hardware for readers. I Achieved a pre-launch, two hour private testing session with the Wii, spawning a famed online article 'I played with my Wii for two hours & didn't get tired!'. I Increased traffic flow to the section, got noticed by industry professionals - attending 'Golden Joysticks' awards, X360 & Nintendo Wii launches. I then was headhunted by a new products team due to known success & became an editor again, producing quality articles every day, with attention to detail. I gained an excellent reputation with publishers and developers, leading to results for whoever I wrote for.
Games Editor
I started out as a writer/contributor and advanced to edit the entire games section, acting as a contact and comissioner of new material going up, organising an online team of writers and scoring exclusive coverage such as the '2 hour wii play' special pre launch.
