Kim McCoy MS, CCC-SLP, speech-language pathologist and owner of Blueberry Speech Therapy, is passionate about working with clients of all ages from diverse backgrounds to offer high-quality, individualized assessment and treatment. Kim designs and facilitates one-on-one and group therapy sessions that build on clients' skills in order to work toward their goals for communication, cognition and swallowing. Kim holds a current Oregon Board of Examiners Speech-Language Pathologist license and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Kim is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist as well as meditation instructor with a passion for holistic health and wellness. Kim has extensive mindfulness meditation training and combines knowledge of the orofacial complex with holistic modalities for increasing relaxation and ease to treat developmental, acute and chronic health conditions. She has trained with renowned meditation teachers including Susan Piver of the Open Heart Project and neuropsychologist and researcher Dr. Joanne Azulay of the Mindful Attention Program, a research-based intervention for treating acquired brain injury adapted from Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. Kim has also completed training in Myofascial Release for Speech and Swallowing and is delighted to offer this gentle therapeutic hands-on treatment for addressing pain and dysfunction of the mouth, jaw, neck and breathing system. Kim founded Breathworks Meditation & Wellness a mindfulness-for-health clinic where she offers individual and group sessions in addition to speech-language and swallowing therapy. Kim is an amateur violinist and mother of two. Nurturing these young people has prompted her to further commit to an ethos of respect, care and autonomy in her personal and professional relationships.
