The first floor showed 80+ original artworks, artifacts, and photos from the personal collection of the woman that rediscovered them, author and herstorian Trina Robbins. On the second floor, we took a look at current comics and graphic novels comics with new work by 20 artists including Lynda Barry, Gabrielle Bell, Colleen Doran, Trinidad Escobar, Joyce Farmer, Margot Ferrick, Emil Ferris, Mary Fleener, Ebony Flowers, the late Noel Franklin, Lee Marrs, Alitha Martinez, Barbara Mendes, Summer Pierre, Afua Richardson, Fiona Smyth, Ann Telnaes, Carol Tyler, Jen Wang, Tillie Walden, and Kriota Willberg. -
Art CuratorWomen In Comics May 2020 - Sep 2020The exhibition Women in Comics will be on display at the Palazzo Merulana Museum in Rome opening May 31 in conjunction with the ARF! Comics Festival and the US Embassy. We will have 1970’s work from “All Girl Thrills” #1 and “Girl Fight” #1, plus new art from Joyce Farmer, Lee Marrs, Lynda Barry, Fiona Smyth, Mary Fleener, Carol Tyler, Gabrielle Bell, Colleen Doran, Trinidad Escobar, Margot Ferrick, Emil Ferris, Ebony Flowers, Noel Franklin, Jennifer Hayden, Alitha Martinez, Barbara Mendes, Summer Pierre, Afua Richardson, Ann Telnaes, Tillie Walden, and Kriota Willberg. The “She Makes Comics” documentary will be screening with Italian subtitles. Kim also organized a series of Zoom panels with American and Italian artists.
