Kimberly Alexander Email and Phone Number
I have recently completed two terms as a data and analytics intern with NASA's Aerosciences Evaluation and Test Capabilities (AETC) portfolio office, where I focus on enhancing research and test capabilities for our world class wind tunnel testing facilities. I'm pursuing my master’s degree in applied mathematics at the University of California, Riverside, where I also earned my bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics while conducting research in machine learning. As a non-traditional student, I started my educational journey at Riverside City College during which I completed the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program. Upon my transfer to UCR I also participated in the NASA L'SPACE Mission Concept Academy (MCA) and NASA Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience (NPWEE).I am passionate about building connections with technology and aeroscience professionals, and look forward to continuing my contributions long-term in data analysis and visualization.

Data Analysis InternNasa - National Aeronautics And Space Administration Jan 2024 - PresentThe Aerosciences Evaluation and Test Capabilities (AETC) portfolio office executes strategic efforts to preserve and enhance research and test capabilities for NASA’s world-class portfolio of National Wind Tunnel facilities. As an intern for AETC, I connect with non-portfolio domain facility and project managers to acquire data necessary to build performance and value metrics. This information is then used to create a platform to accurately depict the significance of these facilities in industries including but not limited to aeronautics and aerospace. -

Undergraduate Research Student Of MathematicsUniversity Of California, Riverside Jun 2022 - Jun 2023Riverside, CaDespite their major achievements, machine learning algorithms have historically operated mostly as black boxes. For this reason, one of the biggest challenges in the area is the inability to reproduce results consistently. This research focuses on enumerating the number of linearity regions to measure the complexity of max-pooling layers in convolutional neural networks. In some cases, we have been able to provide upper bounds for the count, while in others we have been able to give exact answers. Among the possible applications, our results can be used for cost-benefit analyses between networks.
