In 1995 Kim earned a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. He also holds both a Specialists in Education (Ed.S.) and a Masters in Education (M.Ed) in Higher Education Administration and Counseling from the University of Florida and a BA in Psychology also from the University of Florida.
