I established KLR Bookkeeping & Accounting Services in March 1995 to provide bookkeeping and accounting services to a wide range of industries. During the implementation of GST in 2000 KLR grew as a business and employed 4 staff to perform bookkeeping services and MYOB training and support. As the sole partner of the business my role consisted of managing relationships with clients, managing bookkeeping staff and attending to clients with high end accounting requirements. One of my most challenging projects during this period was in August 2004 when I completed a contract for Woodside Mauritania, in West Africa. This contract included implementing a dual language accounting package plus implementing systems and writing training manuals for local staff which were then translated into French.Pastel was the software installed as there was support in Perth and also South Africa for local staff. I liaised between Woodside and Pastel Perth for information to be exported in a format suitable for importing into their SAP system using their relevant cost codes.During this time the Commercial Manager was in Perth and I was responsible for part of his role in managing office staff, travel logistics and the In Country finances.
