Fearlessly Loving Yourself, Inc. (FLY) is a mentor program for girls in Baltimore City. FLY is committed to inspiring confidence and personal advancement with the goal of promoting resiliency. FLY’s mentorship structure has three components: direct mentoring, group mentoring, and peer mentoring. This multi-leveled approach supports the well-being, learning, and growth of our participants. Perform HIV screening test for patients desiring testing in an urban academic medical center’s Emergency Department. If screening test is reactive, collect confirmation sample and carry to lab for further confirmation testing. Link HIV positive patients to the appropriate follow up care Encourage at-risk Emergency Department patients to agree to HIV testing/screening. Follow up with Patients who have had the confirmation testing performed. Inform patients who received testing of their results. Counsel positive patients to take the appropriate actions including prevention and/or treatment if necessary. Counsel negative patients to take appropriate measures to protect themselves from exposure and reduce risk factors.Identify and screen all patients that come into the Emergency Department for various medical studies. Enroll and complete assessments and specimen collection per protocol.
