I conduct grassroots organizing activities that engage supporters and build relationships in Western North Carolina, particularly in the Triad, Charlotte, and Asheville, focusing on designated target areas. I provide key support to PPSAT’s political strategy particularly around implementing volunteer activities in issue-based campaigns, engaging supporters in legislative efforts, and helping to elect champions of sexual and reproductive health care. I lead issue and needs-based campaigns to support the overall sexual health and wellness of the state, including mutual aid efforts, supporter education, and long-term power building.

• Explored ocular phenotypic variables of C57 mice with respect to three genetic mutations in the lab of Dr. Bärbel Rohrer• Genotyped mice, performed baseline optokinetic response tests and electroretinograms, induced choroidal neovascularization, and used optical coherence tomography to assess the impact of the genotype on ocular phenotypes• Presented my research to colleagues as part of the MUSC SURP program

• Screened individuals from non-affected population for specific SNPs in three separate genes associated with XLID, Aarskog-Scott syndrome, and Allan-Herndon-Dudley syndrome using ASO PCR and Sanger sequencing, under Dr. Charles Schwartz• Used linkage maps of families with Wilson-Turner syndrome phenotypes and XLID to identify potentially causative gene• Used Sanger sequencing of potentially causative gene for 35 patients to discover SNVs for further investigation
