Kim Cooper is passionate about connecting youth with industry through the lens of diversity of inclusion and equal opportunity. She is President and CEO of Youth Culture Inc., a social impact consulting business and professional services company, that aims to amplify youth voice and engagement in industry and the evolving economy to help solve real-world problems. Kim is a Certified Career Strategist and is the author of the book Girls in Science: Voices for Change and was the former Vice President of Partnerships at FIRST Robotics Canada — an organization encouraging kids and youth in STEM. She works to build relationships and partnerships that align with empowering kids and youth, encouraging innovation, and supporting equity, diversity and inclusivity. She's an instructor for Sheridan College's Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies, and a tutor of ESL and IELTS. In her previous role as editor of OWL Magazine, she engaged and interacted with teachers, parents, educational professionals, and readers 9 to 13 years old through print and online content. Before joining Owlkids, she was a digital producer at Astral Media for Family Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior. Previous to that, she was online editor for Vervegirl.com and print editor for B-ZONE Magazine at Youth Culture. She’s a graduate of the University of Victoria’s Pacific and Asian Studies program, where she majored in Japanese; she also attended Doshisha Women’s College in Kyoto, Japan. Cooper is actively involved in a number of diabetes-awareness initiatives for kids and youth.
