I am a corporate social responsibility, nonprofit, public relations, communications and crisis and issues management leader with a deep commitment to helping companies use their size and scale for good. I am passionate about corporate citizenship and developing meaningful ways for organizations and employees to give back in local communities all while making a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them through charitable programs or corporate initiatives. I feel strongly about our obligation as people to help those who can’t help themselves. After starting my career in public relations, I came to Banfield Pet Hospital to lead external communications and worked to create the company’s first Corporate Social Responsibility platform. Through that work, I discovered that my love of giving back and making a societal impact and knew it would be the focus of my career moving forward. It was an honor to help create and found the Banfield Foundation in 2015 where I now serve as Executive Director and have led the development of programs focused on financial assistance, access to veterinary care, disaster relief, domestic violence, and volunteer work.In addition, I helped launch, and currently serve as the president of, the Better Together Fund, a separate public charity that empowers 48,000 Banfield, BluePearl and VCA associates to support one another with critical financial assistance in the event of natural or manmade disasters or domestic violence.Building partnerships with both nonprofits and corporations that help work towards the greater good and help people and pets through crisis is what continues to drive me in my career.

Executive DirectorBanfield Foundation Feb 2016 - PresentVancouver, Wa, UsIn 2015, I helped create and launch the Banfield Foundation, the charitable arm of Banfield Pet Hospital. As the Executive Director, I am responsible for the strategic direction, mission and vision of the organization while overseeing program and partnership development, hiring and growing the team and innovating how we expand and build out our offerings. I have worked hard to elevate the importance of pets when it comes to disaster relief and preparedness by raising awareness and providing direct financial assistance to impacted communities and pets. After creating the disaster relief program model, the foundation has been able to provide financial support to nonprofit animal organizations and local/state government agencies whose communities have suffered the impact of natural or other disasters. To further increase awareness of the importance of disaster preparedness, we coordinated a partnership and PSA with TV personality Sean Lowe ahead of the 2018 hurricane season.I have also helped launch multiple new programs at the foundation including the Safer Together Initiative, joining forces with NFL Super Bowl Champion Russell Wilson to help raise awareness of the link between domestic violence and animal abuse. In addition, the Care Knows No Boundaries (CKNB) Grant Program was launched in 2019, enabling any veterinarian or certified veterinary technician within any Mars business segment in the United States to apply for a grant to do global volunteer work that supports the Mars Petcare purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.Under my leadership, the Banfield Foundation has awarded more than $13 million in grants and improved the health, safety and wellbeing of more than 6 million pets in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Guam. Since making changes at the PIN Pad system within Banfield Pet Hospitals in 2017, the foundation has increased the amount of donation dollars received by 25%. -
