She has decades of journalism experience, first as a correspondent, and later as a producer, director, and TV studio anchor.In the field Kim has covered many of the major news stories of the last decade; including the war in Syria and Eastern Ukraine, Iraq’s fight against ISIS, the political fallout from the 2014 war in Gaza and the Mediterranean migrant crisis. In the studio, Kim has anchored major global stories, ranging from the inauguration and impeachment hearing of US President Donald Trump to the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan. She previously anchored for TRT World in Turkey, was a freelance correspondent covering East Africa from Tanzania, and was a senior correspondent for TVNZ and TV3 in New Zealand. She is a proud kiwi with Maori heritage, of Ngāti Toa and Ngati Raukawa descent.
