Senior PharmAssist provides Medicare insurance counseling, financial assistance, medication therapy management, and community referrals for older adults in Durham, NC. Responsible for fundraising over $650,000 annually to support a $1m+ operating budget including a database conversion and implementation, appeals, grants, and events. Responsible for marketing, communications, and community outreach efforts. Oversees accounting tasks such as monthly financial reconciliation, audit support, and reporting and various other administrative duties.

Hired to establish a community fundraising program at a local, nonprofit organ procurement organization. Guided the purchase of and implemented a donor database to track and acknowledge gifts, run reports, etc. Led the effort to redesign and launch a public website and private website for clinical partners. Created a functional online giving program, and a process for tracking and acknowledging memorial gifts. Worked with leadership staff to create a comprehensive case for support and sponsorship program to leverage the opening of a new clinical building to solicit corporate gifts. Launched the organization’s first fall fundraising campaign including a segmented direct mail campaign to an audience of over 10,000 households. Led the effort to educate staff and Board members about fundraising philosophy, processes, and policies. Led the effort to create a series of video storytelling products to share mission-based messaging across several platforms and to launch an email newsletter to share mission and events information to over 1150 subscribers. More than doubled the organization’s raised funds in the first nine months from approx. $40,000/year to over $85,000 so far in 2022.

Focused on the agency’s 1979 Giving Circle program for donors giving $1,000+ annually through phone calls, emails, written communications, and in person meetings. Stewarded and retained donors to the Grateful Family program and Legacy Society (planned giving). Provided support for grant writing, database maintenance, third party fundraising events, monthly donor program development, annual planning and program development, and other philanthropy efforts. Cooperated with members of the Board of Directors, Philanthropy Committee, and colleagues to raise $1.8m annually. Initiated monthly email newsletter to share impact stories with donor base. Initiated Giving Tuesday program and increased campaign’s money raised from $10,000 in 2020 to over $32,000 in 2021.
