I think of myself as a Linux systems, Devops engineer or SRE or Infrastructure Engineer with an interest in technologies especially relating to the cloud, web apps, design and infrastructure.My usual responsibilities include helping design, create and maintain virtualized and cloud infrastructures and app stacks that consists of using technology services like AWS, Azure, Office 365 and VMWare. More specifically, I mostly focus on the automation side using automation tools like Terraform, Jenkins and config management tools like Chef and other homegrown tools while maintaining a sustainable CI/CD git workflow.I love technology and have been very lucky to have gotten into the exact career I was looking for right out of college and thoroughly enjoy what I do.In the past I've supported 3-tier and microservice architectures that include: Oracle DB, PostgreSQL DB, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, AWS Linux, CentOS, Windows Servers, Windows workstations, Cisco Networking Equipment, VMWare, AWS, MongoDB, Tomcat, Jboss, Apache, Nginx, Netscalers, F5 BigIPs, LVS, Memcached, Redis, Couchdb, Nodejs.Languages/scripting I've used in my career (but not a master of):Bash/Shell Scripting, PHP, Javascript, Python, Ruby, Perl, and Golang.Automation tools:Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Jenkins, BazelMore about my background: I started HTML in high school and then programming in college in C++, then Adobe Flash, and advanced to Java, PL/SQL and SQL Query language. I did some self-learning with PHP during college that allowed me to launch a registered online retail business that was registered in the city of San Jose, California with my roommate.Sometimes in my spare time I like to make apps that I think are useful or fun or both, go bouldering, hiking, play video games, gardening, travel, and venture doing new things!
