The Emergency Meal Distribution sites were created in response to the 2019-2021 pandemic relief efforts, which sought to provide sustenance to local communities facing food shortages in metropolitan areas. The effort was run out of various Baltimore City Public School locations and supplied by national partners, including World Central Kitchen.
