Hoofbeats Equine Rescue is a non-profit organization that was created to help remove horses and other equine out of dangerous or neglectful situations. This could be a feedlot (kill-pen), abandonment or even an owner surrender. I will take the animal into my care, quarantine them for 30 days while I assess their health and determine if they are suitable for rehoming or if they need to remain at my ranch until the end of their life. My credo is RESCUE, REHABILITATE & REHOME. Up to now, I have been funding my organization completely. However, I need to scale so I can take on more rescues. I need a larger barn so the animal can arrive at my ranch and exhale. The quarantine lasts for 30 days so we can make sure they are healthy before putting them in with the rest of the herd. Strangles and other barnyard diseases will kill a herd quickly - and proper measures must be taken to make sure the original herd does not get exposed.
