I am the co-director of the Immune Discovery & Modeling Service, where we provide innovative, state-of-the-art technologies to measure drug levels, detect proteins, and identify rare cell types at levels not detectable by conventional clinical instruments. Our mission is to help improve the hematopoietic cell transplant and other cell transplant.

I led a group of 10 scientists, and we carried out small molecule/drug screening, investigated molecular signaling pathways, protein binding and enzyme analysis, cell-based assays, performed iPSC culture and related research, myeloid cell isolation, culture and phenotypic analysis, and developed and performed other research assays.

My research efforts in Dr. Berhane Ghebrehiwet laboratory included elucidating the role of C1q in regulating the monocyte-to-dendritic cell development. Additionally, I studied in detail the extra- and intracellular pathways involved in C1q-DC signaling, and how gC1qR, the receptor for the globular heads of C1q, is anchored on the cell surface.
