I am currently a Senior Software Engineer at The Home Depot. I primarily focus on frontend work with React and Node JS filling in the gaps. I've been focusing on building applications for our Disaster Report and Incident Management teams for the past two years. I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in December 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. During my last two years at Tech, I interned summers at The Home Depot as a Software Engineer, and returned to The Home Depot in January 2018 as a full-time Software Engineer. As a student, I transferred from Georgia State in 2014 with the intentions of majoring in aerospace engineering. During my first semester at Georgia Tech I realized that I loved programming, which was not a great surprise considering my background. In the summer of 2015 I decided to officially change my major to computer science. Georgia Tech has a great computer science degree program that is flexible in that they have multiple “threads” to choose from. I completed my BSCS focusing on the Information Internetworks & Media threads. Prior to returning to school, I enjoyed a fifteen-year career at Tennant Co. culminating in a Project Manager role at their 255,000 square feet distribution center in Louisville, KY. My last few years with Tennant Co. were spent focusing on process design, development, and implementation within the distribution center. Additionally, I was a project leader and troubleshooter for SAP data, software, and hardware needs. I also created multiple Microsoft Access databases that communicated with SAP, drastically increasing reporting and production tracking. Throughout my career at Tennant Co., I managed groups of up to 30 employees consisting of salaried and non-salaried employees.
