I worked in the Amazon Web Services Infrastructure team. We developed tools to monitor and optimize the utilization of hardware at Amazon.com. During my six months, I successfully completed 4 projects and all of them were pushed to production during my tenure.I used Ruby on Rails and jquery extensively for the front end and Rest based Java Web services, Spring, Hibernate and mysql for the backend. I got to start all the projects from scratch. As a result, I got the opportunity to work on all stages in the software development cycle right from writing the technical spec, setting up a mysql database on AWS RDS, setting up AWS S3, creating and optimizing tables in the database, developing the website and web services and finally deploying the website and web service on multiple machines using load balancers. I got to utilize the Amazon Web Services EC2, S3 and RDS.
