From December 2014 to July 2016, I held the role of Associate Editor and Copy Editor.As part of our goal to balance the gender disparity in publishing, I reached out to women writers in our online community to tackle relevant issues through longform journalism, blogging, profiles, etc. I helped these writers develop their articles, crafted smart headlines, edited/proofread pieces, and added visual elements to deepen each article's meaning. I developed the Riveter's online identity through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by promoting our own content (longform journalism by women writers) and that of the larger journalism community. I grew our readership and follower base by engaging with readers & writers nationwide. On a broader level, I also spread awareness of the existing gender disparity in publishing.

In an effort to overhaul our company's overall message and improve our presence and name recognition, I partnered with a PR agency to create marketing content. I developed website content and marketing literature, spearheaded a company newsletter, gathered customer experience stories and industry news stories for our website, and sculpted a social media strategy.From February 2013 to January 2015, my role at TempWorks was News Editor of Staffing Talk.I wrote fresh blog posts weekly or biweekly for an audience of recruiters and staffing pros and promoted the posts daily through various social media sites. My editorials and "spin-off" news pieces merged my own interests/concerns with those of our readership. By garnering signups for the daily newsletter I compiled (industry-specific news, our own featured articles, and sponsored content), our reach grew to 20,000 industry pros. I also edited and solicited work from a remote group of enthusiastic writers.

During my year-long role as an immersion English teacher in China, I taught English as a foreign language to students ages four to 40. This allowed me to exercise quite the spectrum of creative tools and supplements, from interactive games and songs to grammar worksheets and dialogues. I was also responsible for administering tests and grading the students on pronunciation, grammar, and participation, in addition to hosting parents' meetings after each completed level.

Over the span of a school year, I led a team of literary and art editors, PR specialists, and designers from the submission phase to in-print publication of "earthwords." In the fall, we devised marketing schemes to energize the student population to submit their writing. Additionally, I helped the group organize poetry and fiction readings. After hundreds of submissions arrived, I led the team through the delicate process of voting on and selecting quality student work. I also worked with graphic designers to make the book visually cohesive and attractive, met with the printers and budgeted the number and style of copies, and hosted a release party.
