Life is full of twists and turns and I've had my share. My first career was as an audio engineer and record producer for 10+ years. In those roles I've received Gold and Platinum records while working with artists as varied as Joan Jett, Death Cab for Cutie, Brandi Carlile, Sleater-Kinney, David Byrne, Built to Spill, The Posies, Unwound, Reggie Watts, and comedian David Cross. After my daughter was born a passion for photography developed that has led to working professionally as Kip Beelman Photography (an award-winning wedding photography boutique), starting The Lightning Booth (an "open air" photo booth experience found at corporate parties, PR events, product launches, weddings and parties), and launching KIPMAN Creative (a commercial video and photography creative agency) that has done work with Nike, GLY, Big Fish Games, Sellen, Unico, Hilton, Avira, Redapt, and Adobe. After expending all of the midnight oil I thought was possible working in recording studios, I bootstrapped a production music library together with some colleagues to personally head developing the brand, creative direction, marketing, and data management systems that still live on as Big Idea Music.Through a Facebook message I was recruited to become the UX/UI Designer for Pixellu, a software company creating elegant, time-saving products for photography professionals. Usability, design thinking and UI consumes nearly all of my thoughts at this stage of my twisting and turning path.
