Kipp Bradford is the co-founder, former Chief Technology Officer, former Chief Innovation Officer, and inventor of the category-defining Gradient user-installable heat pump, for which he filed provisional patents in 2009.He is a world-renowned innovation expert and design engineer, and teaches at the Harvard University School of Engineering where he is part of the Masters of Design Engineering faculty. I managed and grew the intellectual property portfolio, obtaining a number of patents covering category-defining product architecture and installation methods. I currently advise the senior leadership team around questions of technology, strategy, and market dynamics.Gradient (formerly known as TREAU) is a Series-A hardware startup in San Francisco, CA making home heaters and air conditioners that are better for the environment, easier to install, and more pleasant to use. Gradient started in 2017 as part of Otherlab, a group of inventors, engineers, scientists, and business people striving to impact the energy, robotics, manufacturing, and education sectors.
