I never planned on staying in my hometown community. I always thought I would work and live in a big city with a big house in the suburbs. I remember distinctly when that changed. I’d been working and attending school full-time. One day after class I realized I didn’t care as much about the money or the supposed prestige or the opportunity to work for a large and recognized firm. I really only wanted two things: 1) To provide for my family and 2) to give back to my community - to serve.I now dance an intricate weave between these two goals. Wisely working to build wealth and making time to serve in my community. I’m able to serve in my community in large part due to the experience and expertise I’ve gained in my professional life. Helping business owners navigate the tax code, helping non-profit organizations through proper planning and consulting, and helping local governments with their accounting and compliance needs. I love the depth and breadth of my work, how I’m able to directly benefit members of my community using my skills, knowledge, and experience.I'm extremely blessed with the opportunity to help teach the next generation of accountants. Balancing my role in public accounting with my newfound role lecturering at my alma mater. Life has an interesting way of working out for the better. It has and always will work out well for me.
