As US Senior Research and Development Manager, I am responsible for R&D, Regulatory, and Quality for the US and Canada. My team focuses on research and development for oil & gas, paints & coatings, HI&I, personal care, and agrochemicals markets. This research includes process and application development, as well as, analytical support groups for each of the aforementioned markets and the US production facilities. I also lead the regulatory and quality teams in the US. All the teams support customer driven, company driven, and regulatory goals both locally and globally.

As US Research and Development Manager, I am responsible for both R&D and technical service in the US in all areas including oil & gas, paints & coatings, HI&I, personal care, and agrochemicals. My team not only trouble shoots customer issues, but it also develops new products specifically designed for these markets especially in the area of surfactants and co-surfactants.

As the Manager Applications Development, this is very similar to my previous R&D Supervisor role, but with expanded group size and responsiblities. The focus remains on growth opportunites through customer driven interactions in the areas of oil and gas chemicals including enhanced oil recovery (EOR), PICA (Paints, Inks, Coatings, and Adhesives), metalworking/lubricants (MWL), and PCMs (phase change materials). Due the extensive developmental work, I continue to serve as the IP champion for North America.

Manage the Applications Group within R&D. The main focus of the group is researching and interacting with customers on growth areas for Sasol which include: PICA (Paints, Inks, Coatings, and Adhesives), Oilfield, EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery), and PCM (phase change materials). This includes interacting with fellow R&D sites, production sites and business units around the world.

•Developed new technology with efforts focused on the manufacturing of fatty alcohols, their derivatives, alkyl benzene based surfactants, and other surfactants. Worked to create market development plan for new production facilities in Sasol such as a new ethoxylation unit.•Managed the Sasol North America Process Chemistry Group•Lead the NAFTA Patent Team as the IP champion for NAFTA and represented Sasol North America on the Global IP Team•Oversaw and directed Sasol North America's Stage Gate Program•Worked on several global teams on the expand application markets and process technology•In addition, remained lead technical contact for NAFTA in PICA (Paints, Inks, Coatings, and Adhesives) which entailed developing new products and interacting with the Market Development Group, Sales and Marketing Group, and customers over this wide application area.
