I am an officer recruiter. I am looking for great leaders who want to serve their country as professional officers in the US Navy or US Navy Reserve. If you already have a career, please consider the Navy Reserve, where you can "keep you civilian job and serve your country" by serving one weekend a month, two weeks a year. I am especially looking for people with business, engineering, medical, and law degrees. With your committment to serve and an excellent resume, you may receive what is known as a "direct commission" in the Reserve. A direct commission does not require Officer Candidate School or any schools or training that exceed two weeks. After enlisting in the Navy Reserve in 1996 as a Third Class Journalist, I applied for and received a commission as a Navy Public Affairs Officer. In November 2006 I began an active-duty recall as a Navy officer recruiter in North Texas with Navy Recruiting District Dallas.
