Kira brings a multifaceted background in education and sport experience to her work as a teacher and coach. She earned her university degrees from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario, achieving her Honors Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature in 2016, and her Master of Arts in English with a specialization in Women and Gender Studies in 2018. During her Teaching Assistantship, Kira taught and mentored first year university English students in introductory courses such as Popular Culture and Academic Writing. Some of her favorite areas of study include Film Theory, Southern Gothic Literature, Latina/Latino literature, and Philosophy. Kira recognizes that students have different intellectual learning capacities, and believes that the practice of studying a variety of literature, as well as mastering the mechanics of writing, is fundamental for strong and effective communication to thrive in and outside of school.Kira is enthusiastic and deeply passionate about health and lifestyle management. She is certified under Skate Canada as a Regional StarSkate coach and holds 11 years of experience delivering technical skill training to hockey players and figure skaters, most notably coaching at Toronto’s Granite Club in recent years. Kira is also trained in Holistic Health and Habit Change Coaching, earning her certification from The Health Coach Institute in 2021. She offers programs in anti-inflammatory nutrition and functional behavior change methods.
