- Producing, reporting and editing stories for on-air and digital platforms.- Help strategize and maintain a consistent social media presence.

Create, execute and strategize daily social media posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

- Developing policies/rules with the Editor in Chief for social media accounts that are specific and considerate of each desk’s type of content. - Working with the hiring and training director as well as desk editors to hire and train social media producers for news, sports and A&C by the end of fall term 2015. These hires can either be pulled from volunteers on the desk or from outside of the organization.- Analyzing engagement and web statistics and delivering weekly reports on both to the management staff and the Editor in Chief, with solutions/explanations on the numbers. - Researching and keeping up with trends in news organizations’ approaches to social media. Deliver a monthly report on most/least successful posts on all social media platforms. - Recommend strategies to boost posts and make them more appealing to readers, such as more images, etc. - Be a resource for training with social media producers, and address concerns with desk editors about their assigned social media producers.

- Generating and researching ideas for program and pitching- Developing content, writing material for scripts, bulletins and links- Sourcing potential contributors and interviewees- Managing the logistics of getting people, resources and equipment together to the right place at the right time- Undertaking editing, interviewing and reporting duties as necessary- Converting text, graphics, video and audio files into other formats- Contributing to and making use of an archive of audio resources which can be re-used- Producing and making use of user-generated content- Using technology, such as Audacity, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Audition for editing and production purposes
