About Kira Avery

When I was 14 years old I traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to help after Hurricane Katrina, and my life hasn't been the same since. It was that trip, 11 years ago this year, that has led me to where I am today. I am excited to have completed my Master's degree in Infrastructure Planning and Management, knowing that it will be an invaluable tool in working in the Emergency Management and Disaster Relief field. I am looking forward to helping those that have been affected by disasters, and finding ways to improve the disaster response system that is already in place.
