As a legal officer and a project manager at Spillemyndigheden I had an amazing opportunity to work with responsible gambling, marketing law and GDPR.I was single handed responsible for our responsible gambling area and I am very proud of how much the awareness of this topic grew, with me as the lead - not only in the gambling industry but also among politicians. As an example, I was assigned the responsibility of our self-exclusion register, ROFUS (where a person can register and thus be excluded from gambling online and in casinos). I saw this as a great tool for people with gambling addictions, but it was quite unknown at the time. I therefore proposed to my manager and the Director, that we should make an awareness campaign about this. This idea led to the production of TV commercials and posters all around Denmark, featuring a famous Danish comedian as an ambassador for ROFUS. From 2016-2019 the number of registrants grew from approximately 6.000 registrations to approximately 22.000.As ROFUS was one of the first successful self-exclusion registers worldwide, I was invited to speak at various international forums and conferences. This was a great opportunity for me to spare with relevant stakeholders and to evolve my communications and performance skills.In the summer of 2018 the so called "Ansvarlighedspakken" was adopted by the Danish parliament. Among the many initiatives, Spillemyndigheden was assigned to own a national helpline for gambling addicts. I was appointed project lead on creating this hotline incl. promotions hereof and in January 2019, we opened the lines for the first call. The national hotline has proven to be a great success.
