Key Responsibilities carried out:1. Billet Yard Management * Conduct defects inspection, collect samples, and verify them by chemical analysis. * Properly inventory billets according to grades and specifications.2. Reheating Furnace Operation * Ensure the furnace is heated to the optimum temperature for billet reheating. * Charge billets into the furnace as per the production plan.3. Materials & Consumables Management * Maintain accurate records of billets, furnace oil, and other consumables. * Monitor stock levels and consumption to support seamless production.4. Waste Management * Remove scales, cobbles, and cut pieces from the mill. * Weigh and document waste for reprocessing calculations.5. Mill Preparation * Install and prepare rolls for production. * Conduct sample testing to validate passes before production starts.6. Water Cooling Systems * Ensure the water quenching box is prepared and the sump has adequate water. * Monitor and maintain the functionality of cooling towers and water pumps.7. Water Quenching Process * Set and adjust the water pressure to achieve the required strength for TMT rebars.8. Section Weight Adjustment * Adjust section weight during rolling to meet size and weight specifications. * Minimise cutting waste through precise adjustments.9. Rebar Inspection * Inspect rebars for cracks or deformities. * Ensure quality standards before dispatching.10. Quality Testing * Collect and prepare samples for tensile and bending tests using UTM. * Perform chemical composition analysis using a Spectrometer.11. Industrial Standards Compliance * Review reports to ensure batches meet industrial standards.12. Documentation * Calculate daily production figures and resource consumption. * Prepare and maintain accurate records for audits and reporting.
