Shipped lots of parts to a lot of people.It makes me uncomfortable to toot my own horn, but this is LinkedIn, so I'll share how Wirecutter referred to the case I designed:"We don’t say this often, but there aren’t any flaws. This is a great case that performs well in every way we evaluate cases."The mechanism architecture I designed is in over 100k products with a <0.4% return rate.The case archicture I led has shipped in over 275k units with a <0.9% return rate.

I was fortunate to be one of the first engineering managers at Peak. I helped bring a junior engineer up to speed to a level where they could take over ownership of the case program. This engineer went from never having shipped a consumer-scale product to owning several iPhone case models within the first year of their employment!

I had enough fun working part time that I decided to make it official and join up as a full time design engineer at Peak. I was the engineering lead for the architecture and implementation of the SlimLink locking system. Details below.• Responsible for identifying and validating an insert material stiff enough to work in the field while still not blocking wireless charging• Creator and owner of the core SlimLink CAD stack used for several years of case models (it's the CAD package that helps cases be made on time)• Directly responsible for the creation, implementation, and validation of the locking mechanism used on all cycling and motorcycle mounts (the "Widget")• Directly responsible for all surfaces and internal CAD on several of the first iPhone case models• Brought up multiple new vendors for case and component manufacturing in China (mostly during the pandemic, woof!)• Core member of the team who re-designed and re-validated a magnetic system that would be cross compatible with the Apple MagSafe magnet array that was released in 2020

I joined Peak on a part-time contract basis to build some skills and pay the bills. I took over the exploration of the still-undefined Mobile product line.

• Worked on the manufacturing team responsible for retail and event displays.• Lots and lots of travel to vendors. • Also did some future vendor research among other special projects.• Manufacturing lead for "Designed by Apple in California".

At a company of 7, you wear a lot of hats - especially when it's your first job out of grad school. I designed some things, tested a lot of things, assembled some stuff... if it needed to get done, I did it.

Being a TA in the PRL (student machine shop) at Stanford was quite literally the reason I wanted to stay on for a Master's. PRL TAs quite literally run the student shop including teaching all hands-on labs and keeping students safe during open shop sessions. In addition to these core responsibilities, I additionally TA'd ME203 (the core shop course) for one quarter.Being a teaching assistant in the PRL remains hands-down the best job I've ever had. It changed my life.

I learned a ton from a couple months working with the high caliber and delightful folks in the IDEO Boston studio. I did some mechanical work, some electrical design (even released one of my first PCBs!), and some business development. One of the best summers of my life.
